Wasted Space

Do you have wasted space in your home?

If we all think about it,
there's probably atleast one room
that is not being used to its
fullest potential.
That is wasted real estate money!!!

I've been longing for an office
that wasn't in the cold
(but finished) basement.
I also wanted to have a reading room
that doubles as a room for
playing board games, etc. with my daughter.

On the flip side of that,
I have a formal living room and a dining room.
Neither of these rooms are were used very often
(We're away from family and
don't tend to have many visitors for dinner!)

 So....
escaping the "norm",
we went out on a limb and decided
to turn the formal living room into
my office
and the dining room into the
"reading/game room".

Once I got past the strange reality of
walking in through the front door
(though we usually enter through the garage)
to find my office,
I was certainly on board with the plan!

I'm so glad we went through with this idea
because I LOVE these rooms now
and they are actually being used!

I still have my room in the basement
(cute little room with pocket doors....but COLD).
It's going to be my crafting room
(complete with my former dining room table)
and shop inventory storage room.

I am feeling a bit spoiled right now
to actually have an office AND a crafting room.

Now the fun part begins...
decorating it all!

I will be very busy for the next week,
but can't wait to share
the after photos!

I'm hoping that this post will
get yor wheels turning
and perhaps convince
YOU to turn some of YOUR wasted space
into something that you can actually utilize!

Let me know if you do!!!

Have a great week y'all!

Bargain Alert!

I found this cute little wall plaque
(wooden with hangers on back)
at Target yesterday for $1.00!

Thought I'd share it with you!
(They also had a couple of other sayings available.)

It's an inexpensive, but cute, decoration
to add to your
Valentine's Day decor.

We have SNOW today...
getting ready to go out and play in it
with my daughter.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

LOVE this place!

For months, they've been in the process
of building a new IKEA
in Centennial, outside of Denver.
I've always heard about it,
browsed their website,
and seen ads for it in certain magazines...
but I was really quite clueless to how
GREAT this place actually is!

It opened a couple of weeks ago and caused
a major traffic issue in that area of town.
People were literally camped out
awaiting the grand opening
like it was American Idol auditions or something!
 I waited 2 weeks
to let the madness die down a bit and
finally took the plunge on Friday night
with my husband and 4-year-old daughter.

Let me just say
that it was quite an experience,
like no other shopping center
I've ever been to before!
 The biggest surprise was that
they have FREE childcare for an hour
(an hour and a half if you're an IKEA Family Member)!
Bailey begged us to let her go!
No arguments from us!
She had a blast and I found some great deals!
We ended up buying
a white slipcovered sofa,
3 pendant lights for the kitchen,
a down insert,
a duvet,
a linen laundry bag,
and a hanging, metal/lace cut-out lantern
all for under $700!
UNBELIEVABLE PRICES!
Scroll down
to see the rest of my purchases...

If there's something you've had your eye on
while browsing their website,
but don't have an IKEA store near you,
let me know and
I'll be happy to help you get it!!!

Have a great week y'all!

Run to Anthropologie!

I took a trip to the mall this weekend
and, ofcourse,
had to stop in my favorite store...
I was so excited to find these little beauties
on clearance for $2.95 each!
(originally $10.00 each)
I got lucky and found EIGHT of them!
Just in time to fix up my bathroom!

(By the way...we're not moving.
click here for the latest on my life haha!)

All of the cabinets in my home are golden oak
and I despise them.
I'm going to paint them white
(starting with the master bathroom)
and then, I'll add these!
I wasn't able to find these drawer pulls/knobs online,
but if you have an
Anthropologie store near you,
you're likely to find them!
(Better hurry though!)

Website That I'm Drooling Over...

Do you remember the magazine, Country Home?
I used to love it and was SO sad
when they stopped publishing it.
So...I was searching
for some decorative inspiration online one day..
doing a google search on "Country Home"
just to see what popped up.
and Voila!

The link to a website called
Country Home Interiors...
You will LOVE it!
They carry some of the
Jeanne d'Arc Living Product line
and a large selection of beautiful merchandise!
The site is based out of Germany,
so I don't think they sell to the U.S.
However, it's still a great site to browse
when you need a little decorative inspiration!

(After spending about 45 minutes looking at the site,
I had forgotten all about my original google search!)

Here are some of my favorites from the site!
Head on over when you get some free time!

Have a great weekend!
